An Ithaca, New York native, Dake has worked his way up to become one of the most dominant American wrestlers of all-time. Breaking records throughout his career, Kyle's latest and greatest accomplishment is becoming the first and only 4x NCAA champion at 4 different weight classes. At Lansing High School, Kyle was a multi-sport athlete, but it was on the wrestling mat where he shined the most. Kyle was a six-time letter winner, and four-year captain of the wrestling team while becoming a 2x State Champion. After high school, Kyle took his talents to Cornell University. In his first season with the Big Red, Kyle became the first freshman to win an NCAA championship in Cornell's history, taking home the 141 lbs. title. In that season as well, Kyle was named the IVY League, EIWA, and Intermat Wrestling Freshman of the Year.
In his sophomore year, Kyle moved up to the 149 lbs. weight class. Dake repeated his National Champion campaign, winning his second consecutive title that season. Kyle was named the EIWA Wrestler of the Year, Team MVP, and First Team All-IVY.
Moving up a weight class yet again in his junior season (157lbs.) Kyle would go on to become the first 3x NCAA Champion at 3 different weight classes, amassing a perfect 35-0 record in the process. Kyle became the first 3x NCAA Champion in Cornell history while being named Team MVP and the EIWA Wrestler of the Year. The summer going into his senior year, Kyle competed at the Olympic Trials, where he placed third.
In his senior year, Kyle moved up to his fourth different weight class (165 lbs.) On March 23rd 2013, Kyle would become the first 4x NCAA Champion at 4 different weight classes. Kyle's senior year propelled him to legendary status. He went undefeated with a perfect 37-0 record, was the EIWA Wrestler of the Year, IVY League Wrestler of the Year, and was the 2013 Hodge Trophy recipient. Kyle was also named the Outstanding Wrestler at the NCAAs and led the nation in falls as well.
Though Kyle's college career was incredible, he is not finished yet. Kyle is currently training to become the next World and Olympic Champion while volunteering his time helping out with the Cornell Program. Most recently, Kyle was inducted into the EIWA Hall of Fame just one season after finishing his collegiate career.
In April of 2013, Kyle signed an exclusive representation deal with X-Cel Worldwide. X-Cel Worldwide is now handling all of Kyle's off the mat business.
